I'm suggesting The Heist by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg. One of my favorite series by Janet Evanovich. It's fun, fast-paced and humorous! You'll definitely love Kate O'Hare and Nick Fox.

I have to admit that at first, I was hesitant to read this new series from Janet Evanovich. I was afraid that the character would sound like Stephanie. Don’t get me wrong. I love Stephanie Plum. But I didn’t want to read a book with Stephanie’s twin. Thankfully, Agent Kate O’Hare sound nothing like Stephanie.

FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare has been after an international con man, Nicolas Fox for years. When Kate finally caught him and has him behind bars, Nicolas pulled another con and convinced the FBI to offer him a job. Now Kate has to work alongside with Nicolas. And their first case is to find some big money stolen by a corrupted investment banker.

I love both Kate and Nicolas. Kate is one smart, sexy, kick-ass heroine. And Nicolas is handsome, funny, clever and a bit sneaky con man. They are very dissimilar. But when the two are together, they made a great pair. They have a really great chemistry. The supporting characters were a great addition to the book. I really like the relationship between Kate and her dad and was hoping to see more of them soon.

I wish I didn’t wait this long to read this book. The Heist is a very exciting, entertaining and fun read.  There is definitely more action in this book. The plot was exciting and the dialogue was really good and hilarious! I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to read the next book from the series.

Book Review: Wicked Business

Wicked Business (Lizzy & Diesel #2)

Wicked Business is the second book from Lizzy & Diesel series. This time, Lizzy and Diesel is on a quest for Luxuria stone which is related to the seven deadly sins, lust.

I have to say that the second book of Lizzy & Diesel series is a bit disappointment. I found that the story line is a bit boring as compared to the first one.  Lack of excitement, I guess. And Lizzy sounded a lot like Stephanie from Stephanie Plum series. The difference between Lizzy and Stephanie is that, Lizzy cook. Most of the other characters sounded like the characters in Stephanie Plum series. I think that the only character that I find fascinating in the book is Hatchet. I guess he’s a bit different with his Renaissance dressing, talk and all that. I actually love the way he talk.

Overall, Wicked Business is a light, fast-paced read.

My mother and grandmother raised me to be a good girl, and I have no problem with the girl part. I like men, malls and carbs. Not necessarily in that order. The good part has been spotty. I don’t steal cars or sniff glue, but I’ve had a lot of impure thoughts. And I’ve acted on a bunch of them. Not limited to, but including, snooping through a guy’s closet in search of his underwear. On the surface, this doesn’t sounds like a majorly hot experience, but this was no ordinary guy, and I couldn’t find any underwear. – Plum Lucky, Janet Evanovich, Page 1, Paragraph 1.

I was really lucky. I got myself a copy of hardback Plum Lucky with cheaper price. How cheap? Well, imagine the paperback version with 50% discount. I know... I was really lucky! And it wasn’t that this book was a used book. It’s new. 

When grandma Mazur found a duffle bag full of cash, she disappeared. Worried, Stephanie’s mother asked her to find her grandma and Stephanie tracked down her grandma at a casino in Atlantic City. Stephanie then learns that grandma Mazur got the money from Snuggy (who thinks he’s a leprechaun). Snuggy was after grandma and the money. And Diesel was after Snuggy and the money. It turned out that Snuggy stole the money from a mob. The mob was pissed. So he kidnapped Doug as hostage. But apparently, Stephanie and her friends couldn’t return the money as they have spent them in Atlantic City.

Plum Lucky was the third Stephanie Plum between-the-numbers novel. As a fan of Stephanie Plum, there’s no way that I’m going to miss this one. As usual, Evanovich never failed to make me laugh out loud with this series. It was hectic, lunatic and full with sexy men – a perfect recipe for Stephanie Plum book.

Book Review: Wife For Hire

I’m a fan of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series. When I saw this book, I knew that I have to read it. Wife for Hire is one of Evanovich’s early works before the Stephanie Plum series. Besides, I’ve read Love Overboard and thought that it was quite good.  

But I was a bit disappointed with this one. The plot was unbelievable, flat and boring. Most of all, I couldn’t believe that the characters fell in love with each other in a single day. It was dumb since there wasn’t much attraction going on in the book. I’m really frustrated with this one.

This is the first Stephanie Plum between the numbers novel where Diesel (a character in Evanovich Unmentionable series) was introduced. This book was a quick read with some funny and sexy moment. You will finish this within a couple hours. A good book if you're looking for something with light.
