Book Review: Hush, Hush

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush #1)

Admittedly, I finished Becca Fitzpatrick’s Hush Hush in a day. But I suspected that that had to do with the fact that I’ve got nothing to do during work, and my boss actually told me to relax.

While I’ve never read anything about fallen angels before, I thought that this book was plain. That there was not much thing that would make it stand out. There’s the usual plot where the girl fell for this mysterious, bad guy and although the girl knew he’s bad news, she still likes him. And I found  that Vee, Nora's best friend is extremely annoying. I wonder how Nora could stand her? How did they become friend?

The plot was slow at first as the author was trying to build the story. But, I did enjoy the mystery and suspense in the book, when Nora was attacked with a man in a ski mask.  It makes me wonder what really happen, and guessing who really the bad guy is. However, I didn’t like how the author cramp lots of things at the end of the story. That she’s trying to solve everything at the end of the book. 

But, I would like to read the continuation to the book, Crescendo. I think there were a few more things that the author needs to explain, like the death of Nora’s father. And perhaps more romance between Nora and Patch? As there weren’t much sexy moment between them in the first book.

I’m really excited for this book! I Heart London is the fifth books from Lindsey Kelk’s I Heart series (and I heard that it is the last one). Angela is terrified to be back to London. Well, her mother had insisted that she came back with her fiancé for her mother’s 60th birthday.

Then, her mother suggested the craziest thing – that she should marry Alex during her birthday. What’s even crazier is that, Jenny, her best friend from New York thinks that it was a good idea. That it was romantic. They had 6 days to plan everything before the wedding took place and things couldn’t get much more hectic. Well, her best friends, Jenny and Louisa finally met each other, Louisa’s baby; Grace, her parents and that presentation she had to deliver to Spencer Media UK.

I Heart London is definitely one of my favorite book from the series. I love Angela. She’s adorable. I love how Lindsey Kelk writes what’s going through her mind. It was really funny and crazy. It makes me laugh so much! 

I like how the series start off with a wedding and ended with another wedding. It sounds so perfect. The story is great. It was really fun, and light. I love it.

This is my favorite book from Gail Carson Levine. I read the book only after I've seen the movie, where Anne Hathaway starred as Ella. I love both the book and the movie!

Book Review: Until I Die

Until I Die (Revenants #2)

Kate couldn’t bear to see Vincent die over and over again to save human. So, they have to find a way to stay together where Vincent need to resist from dying in Kate’s lifetime (or Until Kate Die). Apparently, it’s not easy. Kate thought that Vincent’s way to resist dying and whatever experiment he was doing to resist dying is bad for him. So, Kate went by herself to research and figure out a way where they could stay together without using Vincent’s method. 

I think I like Until I Die better than Die For Me. Probably because I already know what Revernant is from the first book. It was easier to understand the story line. I really like Kate and Vincent’s relationship. There are a few smexy moments. And I just couldn’t help not to fall for Jules and Ambrose!

Still, I think the story line was a bit slow. I don’t really mind about that, since I get to see lots of hot men. But, I don’t like how the action was packed towards the end. And that cliffhanger!! I guess I’ll have to wait next year to know what will happen with Vincent and Kate.

Book Review: Them Bones

Them Bones (Sarah Booth Delaney #1)

I started the series last year with the ‘Bone Appetite’. I wasn’t aware that it was the tenth book of Sarah Booth Delaney’s series. So I decided to go back to the first book where Sarah Booth’s life as a P.I started.

Them Bones is a fun cozy mystery with a hint of paranormal in it. The character, Sarah Booth is unwed, unemployed, broke and hunted by the ghost of her great-great-grandmother’s nanny, Jitty. It started with her decision to kidnapped Tinkie’s dog in an exchange for ransom – a desperate act she took to save her house, Dahlia House.

The story and mystery was fun to follow. The ending was not what I expected, which is what I like about it. Overall, it is an entertaining and light read.
