In a time of false peace, the dead rise as soldiers for the Warloc’s scheme. For thousands of years he has stood ready for the final battle. Though the witch and her cursed Elvin have destroyed his physical body, now with his protégé, he has honed a new way to wage war.

Shunned by her own people and weary-hearted from centuries of lost loves, Elvin warrior Mirhana scours the land to silence the undead. Her heart has turned as cold as the sword she wields, until a prince seeks her aid. Never has Prince Landon met a woman like Mirhana. Both beautiful and deadly, she haunts his dreams. The battle at hand becomes more enchanting than fighting to remain true to his unseen betrothed.

When a traitor emerges, new alliances are tested and the only remaining hope is to follow the prophecy and find the ... Son of Dragons.
Excerpt from Son of Dragons

Mirhana followed Brock inside. In one of the corners, Jeslyn, Landon, and Gillespie guzzled mead as if they had been lost in the desert for days. Each slammed the flask down and laughed for another. Jeslyn sat on Landon’s lap with an arm around his neck. She leaned in when she saw them enter and whispered in his ear.

When Mirhana slipped around from behind Brock, Landon’s laughter died and his face colored. She couldn’t keep her hands from clenching. What was the matter with her? Who cared if these humans shacked up together? She had sworn off relationships—especially with men. “

The tavern maid cleans our chambers.” His voice cracked. “The girls’ room is ready now, but Jeslyn wasn’t tired.” He sounded as though he apologized.

Mirhana did not care about him, or that they were drunk. She told herself that beyond protecting humans from the undead, she had no further interest in their affairs.

“Where is Celeste?” Brock asked.

“Asleep, when I left her.” Jeslyn’s voice had no hint of alcohol.

Instead of responding, Mirhana spun on her heel and headed upstairs.

With mumbling excuses, Gillespie and Landon left the table and headed after her. Gillespie ducked inside his and Landon’s room, but Landon grasped her arm.

“What’s the matter?”

She jerked her arm away. “Nothing.”

“It didn’t seem like nothing. A moment ago, you looked like you took a bite of a bitter apple. I only wanted to thank you for your help earlier with the Troblin.”

“The Warloc and his protégé are not sitting idly back guzzling ale. They have attacked each of us.”

“One night of rest and forgetting our responsibilities won’t harm anything.” His smile made his chocolate eyes twinkle.

“I do not have the luxury as you do. It is not only humans that I strive to protect, but my own people and everyone else as well.”

“Right.” He leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. “And who knows what will happen if you have a drink with one of us and lower your standards.”

Instead of answering, she flung open the door to her room, dashed inside, and slammed it closed. How dare he speak with her that way? Tomorrow, she would tell Gillespie to take him back where he found him. They didn’t need a jester in this battle.
About the Author:

Andrea R. Cooper writes fantasy, paranormal and historical romance. Her favorite childhood memories revolved around creating vibrant characters for her friends, and then acting out their adventures. Inside her fantasy worlds of darkened forests, dragon-filled glades, and iced islands, nothing was banned. From the ethereal Elvin to the most maligned Vampires, all were welcome in her fictional realities, a stark contrast to her home, where the magical and mythical was forbidden.

Divorced and disillusioned of love and believing all the love songs and books exaggerated, she put aside her creativity for life. Many years past before characters, from the familiar to the freshly conceived, came to her again, but this time teasing at a new passion, the written word.

Gradually, her real life hero brought love and magic back into existence. During the time when her characters were getting reacquainted, the love of her life was showing her that true love never gives up and rekindles no matter how many times others attempt to extinguish it. Today, she is happily married with three children. Andrea believes in the power of change and delighting in each moment. But most fervently, she believes in the magic of love and imagination again.

I received a copy of this book from Irresistible Reads Tours to provide an honest review.

I wanted to read this book when I saw the synopsis. Lisa was about to marry Jeff, but then she found him with another woman. Now the wedding is off. Lisa was heartbroken and ashamed to tell everyone that Jeff dumped her. She wanted revenge. Lisa decided to find a new groom through the internet and go through the wedding with a total stranger. She met Krzysztof, a guy from Poland who needed to marry an American for a green card. Lisa thought that it would be easy, but soon found out that everything was not as simple as she thought.

I read Mail-Order Groom within one sitting. I found that the plot was very intriguing. There were lots of humorous moments that made me laugh. I love the craziness that Lisa went through to marry Krzysztof. It was very entertaining; I wish the story was a bit longer. I wanted to see a lot more moments between Lisa and Krzysztof and how they come to like each other. But still. Mail-Order Groom was definitely a fun, short read.
About the Author:

My name is Cindy Flores Martinez. I was born and raised in a suburb of Los Angeles. I have an MFA in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Screenwriting. I have been a screenwriting instructor, screenplay consultant, script reader, and screenplay collaborator. My debut novel, Mail-Order Groom, which was inspired by my own Polish ancestry, started out as a screenplay and movie project. I spent years shopping it around Hollywood, New York, and other parts of the world and had two well-known actors, one of them Academy Award nominated, interested in portraying the lead character’s parents. After not finding the success I wanted, I officially canceled my film production company in November of 2009 and embarked on the journey of turning my screenplay into a novel.

Book Excerpt

Do you want a ride to a hardware store?” Anna offered.

“Would you mind giving me a ride home? It’s closer; I have a slew of plugs back at my house. I don’t want to put you out or anything, but it would be a long walk for me from here.” He looked to the sun slowly sinking in the evening sky. “By the time I’d get back, it would be way after dark.”

Anna looked at his stature. He was only a few inches taller than her, but his strong build and wide shoulders made him seem rugged and tall. “Sure. I’ll get my keys.” She picked up her shoes and salad, leaving him to wait at the pier. Entering the cabin, she found them on the table, and she paused to gaze at Steve Henderson through the window. He was bent over his boat looking for something. It was comforting to look out and see a man at the end of the pier.

Part of her wanted him to stay; the stranger filled the emptiness that surrounded her like a cloud. She watched as he brushed his hand through his hair, put his hands on his hips, and looked at his abandoned boat. He turned to look back at the cabin, and she rushed through the screen door, embarrassed in case he’d caught her watching him. Steve walked toward her, and the two got into her car.
