A Companion Novel to The Proposition and The Proposal

After her former boyfriend left her pregnant and alone, Megan McKenzie swore off men. She spent the last eighteen months focused solely on her son, Mason, along with finishing nursing school at the top of her class. Although she’s not ready to complicate her life with a long-term relationship, a nice no-strings attached hook-up is just what she needs. At her godson, Noah’s, baptism, she finds the perfect candidate in the soft-spoken godfather, Pesh Nadeen. After all, the widower could use a good time too. But after drinking too much, the night doesn’t end the way she thought it would. Forced to leave Pesh’s house through a walk of shame, Megan hopes to never, ever see him again.

For Pesh Nadeen, the very sight of Megan sends him into an emotional tailspin. Since she reminds him too much of what he has lost, he wants to be out of her sightat first. But the more he gets to know her, there's something about the diminutive blonde that causes his protective side to go into overdrive, and he finds himself wanting more. When Megan is assigned to work in his ER to complete her nursing clinicals, he sees it as fate, but she’s having no part of it. She only wants a physical relationship while he wants far more.

What happens next is a sexy game of cat and mouse to see who will break first or if both of them will eventually get more than they ever bargained for.
I love the first two series from The Proposition by Katie Ashley and have been looking forward to read The Pairing.

Megan swore off men after she was left pregnant by her former boyfriend.  She was only interested in having sex and not more than that. She met Pesh Nadeen during her godson, Noah’s baptism. He was handsome, charming and available. Megan decided that Pesh could use a good time, but Pesh wanted more than that. He respected Megan and rejected her for the first time she came to him. Megan was embarrassed and hoped to never see him again. But fate had another plan for them as Megan was assigned to work in Pesh’s ER.

I love both Megan and Pesh (but not more than Aidan and Emma). I love watching how their relationship developed. Megan pushed away Pesh at first, but Pesh was really persistent to have her. They made a really good couple despite their age differences. They complimented each other. Mason, Megan’s son made the story much more enjoyable. He’s very sweet and adorable.

The story flowed nicely. My only complaint was that the book was a little bit too long and draggy than necessary. Things went smoothly for the couple once Megan accepted to have a relationship with Pesh. And I was waiting for another drama to pop up. But I was wrong.

The Pairing is a romantic, heartwarming read with lots of steamy scene. If you enjoy the first two books from the series, you might want to read this one.

  1. Super long books make me cringe at times. It's worth to read the other books in the series. Thanks for sharing your review. :)
