I have to say that I am absolutely in love with the title and the cover. Personally I Blame My Fairy Godmother is a modern Cinderella story with a bit twist! Jessie was a fan of ‘happily ever after’ and she worked hard to achieve her own happiness after her father died. Jessie figured out that fame was the key to her new world and work as a TV host. But when she accepted an offer to a free car in her TV show, she was fired. With no job and money to pay for her lifestyle, she was forced to go back to her hometown and live with her stepmother and two evil stepsisters.
The book started off a bit slow. We got to see Jessie’s lifestyle in the first few chapters until she got sacked and went back to live with her step mother and stepsisters. That was when things are getting much more fun! I love Jessie and her stepsisters. Obviously, they didn’t get along very well, but I really enjoy their interaction – well, mostly their spats, insults and sarcastic remarks.
Personally, I Blame My Fairy Godmother, in my opinion is a heartwarming book about family relationship. No matter how much you don’t like each other, in the end, they are the one who will help you to bounce back in life. There are tons of laugh out loud moments as we watched how Jessie surviving her new not-so-glamorous life and how she try to achieve her happy endings. I would recommend the book to anyone who was looking for a light and entertaining chick lit reads.
